Getting to know Marina Callozzo

Doing the work it takes to find the right therapist when your mind and heart are struggling and in need of help takes an enormous amount of strength and hope. As a clinical social worker with a Master's in Social Work from Northeastern Illinois University, my goal is to bring my wide range of experience with therapeutic modalities and diverse populations to capitalize on your strengths and hope. I work from a humanistic, trauma-informed, and strengths-based perspective. While I have experience counseling people living with varying degrees of mental illness, refugees from conflict zones, and survivors of queer hate-motivated violence, I also strive to validate and affirm the trauma and trauma symptoms that come with the experiences of everyday life. Every person comes into therapy with unique needs and goals, just as they come with unique strengths and skills. I believe that everyone who chooses therapy is choosing not just to feel better, but to be better. Therapy is about healing, growth, and learning to lead a more fulfilling life that contributes to the good of all people. I value the opportunity to support you in a safe and welcoming space where we can work together to meet your goals and build a profoundly fulfilling life.
