“I have been seeing Marisa for a little over a year now. When I started with her, I was new to therapy and nervous, not knowing what to expect. She very quickly put me at ease. She has helped me immensely in learning how to manage my health anxiety. In only a year, I have seen and experienced improvements in my mindset towards health related issues. Getting to know Marisa Reo

I strive to create a space that feels warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental, where you can feel comfortable showing up as yourself. I view therapy as a collaborative process and work to meet you where you are emotionally and personally in each session. I also believe therapy should feel genuine, comfortable, and grounded in real human connection. I value honesty, humor, curiosity, and authenticity, and aim to foster a therapeutic relationship where you feel seen, heard, and understood. Individual (In-person & Virtual) Clientele: Teenagers (13-17), Young Adults (18-24), Adults (25+) Types of Therapy: Psychodynamic (Relational), Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, etc. Focus Area: Anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, self-esteem, stress, emotional overwhelm, identity exploration, family conflict, and challenges related to attachment. I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds and identities and strive to create an affirming and inclusive environment. Life can be difficult and overwhelming at times, and I am here to walk alongside you through the highs, lows, and everything in between.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I strive to create a space that’s warm, supportive, and nonjudgemental where you can feel comfortable to be yourself. I think of therapy as a collaborative experience, where I am always working to meet you where you are in the moment. I also want therapy to feel genuine, comfortable, and grounded in real human connection. I value aspects such as honesty, humor, curiosity, and authenticity. My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and relational therapy, which means we may explore how past experiences, relationships, and life patterns can influence current emotions, behaviors, and ways of connecting with others. I believe our relationships throughout life (including the therapeutic relationship) have the power to provide valuable insight, healing, and opportunities for growth.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session is guided by what feels most important or present for you that day. Some sessions may focus on processing emotions, relationships, or past experiences, while others may center around current stressors, coping strategies, or problem-solving. Early on, we will spend time getting to know each other, exploring your goals for therapy, and building a sense of safety and trust within the therapeutic relationship. Over time, sessions can become a space where you feel able to process experiences, better understand yourself and your relationships, develop healthier coping strategies, and notice patterns that may affect your daily life. Life can sometimes be difficult and challenging, and I am here to walk alongside you during the highs and lows (and everything in between).
