Getting to know Marisol Rivera-Thurman

As a licensed clinical social worker with a Master's in Social Work from Fordham University and a Bachelor's degree from City University of New York, Lehman College, it is my desire and goal that through an integrative approach to therapy, each client will find healing and restoration from the broken places of their relationships and past experiences. Together, we will discern, process, and embrace challenges impacting your quality of life. You will learn how to find peace within yourself by understanding how adverse experiences are connected to impulsive behaviors and decision-making. My extensive experience includes working with adolescents, families, individuals, and couples. I also have specialized training in the areas of trauma and abuse.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect a phone consultation where I will be able to understand your drive for change and desire for help in enhancing your quality of life while determining if you and I will be a good fit in working together. During an intake session, I gather biopsychosocial information and we work to identify short and long term goals that are measurable and specific to your wellbeing.
