Getting to know Marissa Felder

I am a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor, also licensed in Connecticut and Florida-Telehealth(only). I am committed to providing a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space for healing. I work with individuals, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and difficult life transitions. My approach integrates evidence-based methods—including CBT, interpersonal therapy and mind-body wellness strategies—to meet each client’s unique needs. For clients who desire it, I also offer faith-based Christian counseling. Together, we will identify practical steps toward renewed hope, emotional wellness, and meaningful change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients can expect a warm, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where they feel heard and understood. I view therapy as a collaborative process and tailor treatment to each person’s needs, goals, values, and life experiences. Together, we will explore underlying concerns, build practical coping skills, and work toward meaningful and lasting change. I may gently challenge unhelpful patterns while offering encouragement and support throughout the process. Faith-based counseling is also available for clients who wish to incorporate their Christian beliefs into treatment.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with getting to know you—not just the concerns that brought you to therapy, but also your experiences, strengths, values, and hopes for the future. Together, we will identify what you want to gain from therapy and develop clear, realistic goals that support the best possible outcome for you. As treatment progresses, I will regularly check in with you to ensure that our work remains helpful and aligned with your needs. I use evidence-based approaches tailored to you, while providing a safe, supportive space where you can process difficult emotions, develop practical coping skills, and work toward meaningful and lasting change.
