Hello! My name is Marissa Lamey, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. I joined the field of mental health counseling because I knew I wanted to help, understand, and guide others in the search of discovering themselves. My approach I often tell clients, "life sometimes just sucks," and in those "sucky" times, we cope with what we know. Sometimes what we know is not the healthiest form of self-love. We will embark on that journey together—exploring what taking care of you means and what living your life to the fullest can be, no matter what life brings. My focus My experience includes working with adults on a variety of focus areas such as addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma, life adjustments, and self-exploration. My communication style I see value in bringing my authenticity, calmness, humor, honesty, compassion, and gratitude to the work I get to do with clients. At the end of the day, we are just two humans sitting down together, and it is an honor to sit with and listen to you. My goals for you I provide person-centered, trauma-informed care that focuses on your individual past, present, and future experiences, moving forward at the pace you want. I use specific techniques tailored to your needs and goals, whether that’s achieving objectives, gaining coping skills for stress and emotions, healing trauma wounds, or exploring who you are and who you want to be.
