Marissa Ramirez, LMHC

Psychotherapist
FL
I am seeing patients only through telehealth. I have experience and am comfortable working with people facing everyday mental health difficulties to chronic, serious mental health disabilities, including co-occurring disorders. I lean towards person-centered and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I have worked in residential programs as well as home health. I always wanted to be a doctor but learned in college that they don't talk to their patients much. I switched to psychology with an emphasis on counseling and have loved it since. I enjoy helping people and seeing them help themselves. I was raised as a child of a military service member and had to learn how to adapt with every move. I have lived in four states and two countries as a result of my dad's job. Learning to adapt and find the best balance with every move became second nature. I have worked in two residential facilities, three outpatient programs, and one home health company. I have worked with refugees with limited English and families in the foster care system, in addition to other mental health needs. I have experience with the court systems and people in step-down programs coming from state hospitals or other higher levels of care. Over time, I have found Dialectical Behavior Therapy or a mix of therapies works best with clients. I am open to alternative lifestyles. I have attended trainings for Dialectical Behavior Therapy and telehealth most recently. I have found everyone has their own level of comfort, which may not include a need to change much but rather an acceptance of self and current abilities. I aim to meet any client on their level and help only as much as they would like. When starting, I like to look at the whole picture with a summary of the past. I do not do trauma work without a good level of coping skills. I assign homework based on each client's individual needs. I hold a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
