Marissa Sanchez, LCSW

Psychotherapist
TX
Healing that honors every part of you — body, mind, spirit, and ancestry. As a therapist, I offer trauma-informed care through a decolonized lens — A space where your story is honored without pathologizing your pain. My work integrates somatic healing practices, helping you reconnect with the wisdom of your body, and draws on traditional homeopathic approaches rooted in the rich lineage of curanderismo, the healing traditions passed down through generations in many Spanish-speaking cultures. This is a space where both science and spirit are welcome. Where therapy is not just about coping, but about remembering who you are, reclaiming what was taken, and gently restoring balance — within and beyond. Together, we tend to trauma with compassion, honoring both your lived experience and the ancestral strength that lives within you. Healing is not linear. It’s sacred, personal, and possible — and you don’t have to walk it alone.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I want all my clients to know that they are safe to discover whatever they want to learn about their lived experiences. Working with me is very autonomous and rooted in self-determination. You will act as the guide along your healing journey. I am happy to serve as a resource center, grounding presence, and conversationalist throughout your journey. I will always encourage you to show up as you are and trust that the rest will follow as we untangle the many strings that make up our mind, heart, and lived experiences. I function through a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed lens, incorporating art healing, meditation & mindfulness, and various trauma therapies to help clients feel seen, heard, and healthily challenged.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Through deep critical thinking and gentle, intentional processing, we will find your unique therapeutic style pulling from your choice of healing modalities. My goal is to use my background in healing practices to inform our sessions. Through my very intentional approach, I hope to aid you find which modalities you are most comfortable processing your experiences. At the end of the day, you are in control of your healing and how each therapy session flows!
