Getting to know Marissa Satterfield

I'm a licensed therapist in Pennsylvania with a Master of Education in Counseling from Lehigh University, and I have worked as a community-based therapist for nine years. I've treated individuals of all ages and their families, addressing issues like managing and healing from conflict, anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, and grief. My approach as a therapist is integrative—I draw from all my knowledge and evidence-based theories and interventions to offer skills, information, and techniques tailored to your unique needs. I spent most of my career working in an agency setting and am now excited and humbled to provide services to the community through my private practice, Solid Ground Therapy. I strongly value providing quality care and honoring the trust and alliance built in the therapeutic relationship. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage. Congratulations on getting started! I'm here for you and honored to support you in your effort to live as a healthier, more authentic you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During our first sessions I'll ask questions to get to know you and what brings you to therapy. Then, I'll teach you skills related to regulation and how such skills work in the body. Moving forward, we'll work to identify strengths and challenges, problem solve, practice relaxation, and process difficult emotions/situations. You will grow to understand yourself in a way that allows you to make changes and feel satisfied with the life you are living.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

I feel like she is willing to losten and help me see where I can improve. She is very kind and friendly but is not afraid to challenge you to be your best.
So far i am very pleased with the services being provided. I would have selected warm, direct, solution oriented , intelligent , direct and more if i could have.
The provider is very easy to talk to and a good listener. She helped me work through some anxiety issues I have. Unfortunately I don't have the time to continue with my sessions right now.
I feel safe and comfortable to talk to.
Marissa is absolutely amazing. She cares so much about her patients. From our very first appointment she set a tone with her authenticity, open-mindedness, and kindness. She has created a safe space for me to share and be vulnerable. I truly enjoy working with her and she has helped me exponentially in such a short period of time.
It was a good therapy session, but in my situation I was looking for help with a mental issue and I was told that I should speak with a doctor for a physical examination. I do not need that at all considering it’s a mental issue and it felt like I wasn’t getting the help I needed in my specific situation. However the therapist is a great listener and it was a really good session.
