Marissa Whitter is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Master’s Level Certified Addiction Professional in the state of Florida. She obtained her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Troy University and her Bachelor’s from Florida State University. I believe that everyone deserves therapy and an opportunity to express emotional experiences. As a therapist who has also utilized therapy, I know it works. I believe in community and the power of valuable support. Compassion, affirmation, and empathy are the tools that create change! As a psychotherapist and addictions counselor, creating a place to grow, be empowered, and heal is my main focus. My goal is to meet you where you are and provide empathic listening while creating a safe space to grow and develop healthy coping skills. My approach is eclectic, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
