Getting to know Mark D. Cochran

Hi, my name is Mark. Thank you for considering me as your therapist. It would be my pleasure to work with you! I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, which means I work not only with individuals facing various mental health challenges but also specialize in systemic, or relational therapy—working with couples, families, and groups. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University. I am also a Presidential Member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. If you want your faith included in your therapy, please let me know; your sessions will be as "spiritual" as you'd like, and no more. I have been providing therapy and counseling since 2016 and most recently served as the therapy manager for a clinic with four locations. Though I have worked with all populations (youngest 5 years old and oldest 94), I find it difficult to work with children who have ADD, ADHD, OCD, ODD, and similar challenges via telehealth, as they often have trouble sitting still in front of a camera. In my opinion, children under 15 are better served in an office setting, face-to-face. I have been married to my amazing wife for nearly 35 years (as of 2023) and have two wonderful adult children. I enjoy sports, music, and all kinds of outdoor activities, but most of all, I cherish time with my family. Most of my clients sincerely enjoy working with me; I tend to connect with them on a deeper and more meaningful level than some other therapists. Many say that they or their children work better with me than with any other therapist, counselor, or doctor they’ve experienced. I am immensely grateful for their kind words. I offer my clients a soft place to fall in their hurts and struggles while providing a firm place to stand in their healing and growth—always in a judgment-free way.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You will be heard, understood and respected. Your concerns will be addressed. Some problems can be resolved, while others can only be managed. Either way, you will have a greater understanding of why you are experiencing your life the way you are, and you will come-away with tools to make the changes in your life that you want.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Mark has a warm and engaging style. He's clearly quite knowledgeable but still down to earth.
I love that he laid out a plan for me and my spouse . We knew what we are working towards with a goal.
Very experienced and you can tell he really cares and puts a lot of work into helping you

I love working with him. He’s great and quickly identifying which steps to take in each session and where to focus out of a huge mess of options. He’s fantastic!
We are really enjoying working with Mark.
Mark is truly a blessing in my life. I am grateful for his empathetic nature, his calming tone, and his listening ear. He has helped me to learn how to see things from a new perspective and he provides a very safe and nonjudgmental environment to express thoughts and concerns as they arise throughout my journey with self-discovery and reflection. While I know that he has extensive experience in helping couples to navigate the ins-and-outs of their relationships, I believe he is just as effective in his ability to help individuals struggling to find a place of peace and harmony within their own personal lives as well.
I appreciate how he guides us to turn off the negative and empower the positive and thoughts inti actions. We are seeing and feeling the success of better communication and respect in our relationship.
