Getting to know Mark Gutierrez

My work is directed by a desire to help people experience emotional growth with stronger forms of self-regulation. My goal is to help individuals establish the foundations that will enable them to create and maintain greater coping skills. Strengthening existing personal skills helps a person deal more successfully with difficult events and stressors from their past. The creation of new skills is life-impacting, guiding a person toward positive experiences while leaving the negative past behind. I believe the relationship between counselor and client is extremely important. My counseling style demonstrates compassion, affirmation, flexibility, and fairness. I feel that healing happens best within an environment of kindness, trust, and understanding. I hold a Master of Education in School Counseling from Sul Ross State University and have more than twenty years of experience in the education field. My work has consistently involved people from diverse backgrounds, histories, and experiences. I have worked with individuals of different ethnicities, religious beliefs, sexual orientations, and mental health challenges. Many of the people I have supported have personally experienced or been exposed to various forms of trauma and traumatic events.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
