Hi there, I'm Mark! I’m a father of two kids with three cats and far too many hobbies. I’m proudly a member of Generation X and strongly believe that the 80s gave us some of the best music ever made. Through the ups and downs of my own life, I’ve come to believe that even the most fortunate among us will experience tragedies, failures, and trauma in their lives. These setbacks can challenge us in ways that test or exceed our ability to persevere. But with careful healing, our scars, both literal and metaphorical, can become little more than reminders of what we are capable of overcoming. I’ve spent the better part of the last two decades working as a clinician with a diverse array of clients facing a wide range of issues. Common themes throughout my career have been recovery from substance abuse My approach I take a big-picture approach in exploring the issues you're struggling with. Nothing happens in a vacuum, and making lasting changes requires an understanding of our lives as a whole. I believe that your life is your story to tell, and my approach is intended to facilitate that and to help you take control of your own narrative. My focus I work with individuals dealing with anxiety, trauma, substance use, life and lifestyle changes, and other barriers, both internal and external, preventing them from living the life of purpose and meaning we all strive for. My communication style I make an effort to meet you where you are. In interacting with my clients, I strive to speak with them, not at them. Your background, your beliefs, your values are all valid and are critical components of who you are as a person. I will never judge, only support. I make heavy use of active listening skills to ensure I'm not just hearing you, but that I'm fully understanding you.
