“thank you - these sessions feel truly productive and not just a vent session (although there's a lot of that too). Feels very nice to have a safe space where the less attractive parts of who I am can come through in a judgement free place.”

Getting to know Mark Miceli

I have been a Clinical Social Worker for the past five years, primarily working in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at a psychiatric hospital in Boston. Before this, I spent over 20 years in higher education as an administrator and educator. My clinical focus is on late adolescents, young adults, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use, and other mental health concerns. I believe in a client-centered approach to therapy that begins with building a strong therapeutic relationship between client and therapist. Not all clients and therapists are a perfect match, so I work to fully understand my clients' lived experiences to collaborate effectively on achieving therapeutic goals. I use an eclectic approach, drawing from a variety of evidence-based methods to support positive outcomes. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from the State University of New York at Fredonia, a Master of Education from Boston University, and a Doctor of Education from Johnson & Wales University, where I researched campus climate for Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual students at Catholic and non-Catholic institutions. I also hold a Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in clinical mental health from Boston College. After booking, Tava Health will send you a text and email with a link to complete registration and join your video therapy session. Once registered, you can log in to Tava to join sessions, book additional appointments, and message me. Please note that appointments are for talk therapy over video only. I am unable to provide medication prescriptions, emotional support animal (ESA) letters, or immigration psychological evaluations.
