“I have talked to many providers in my life, and I have never had anyone come in and make the impact that mark has made in just a few sessions. He is insightful, attentive, compassionate, and direct. Getting to know Mark Miceli

I have been a Clinical Social Worker since 2017, working primarily in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at a psychiatric hospital in Boston, and more recently in my own private practice. Prior to this, I spent most of my professional life working in higher education as an administrator and educator for over 20 years. My clinical focus has been working with late adolescents, young adults, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use, and other mental health concerns. I believe in a client-centered approach to therapy that begins with ensuring the client and therapist have a strong therapeutic relationship. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from the State University of New York at Fredonia, a master's degree in Education from Boston University, and my Doctor of Education degree from Johnson & Wales University, where I studied the campus climate for Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual students at Catholic and non-Catholic institutions of higher education. I also earned my Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health from Boston College. I completed my first internship with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Office of Community Development and Substance Abuse, and my final internship at HRI Hospital in Brookline, Massachusetts.

What should a new client know about working with you?

A client centered approach to therapy starts with ensuring the client and therapist have a strong therapeutic relationship. Not all clients and therapist will be a good match. I work to fully understand my clients lived experience so that I can work with you to achieve your therapeutic goals. I use an eclectic approach to therapy, meaning I may use a variety of evidence based approaches to achieve results.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
