Getting to know Dr. Markyse Bernadin

If you’ve been battling stress, burnout, or self-doubt, then I’m the therapist for you. I work with ambitious professionals and creatives who are ready to pause, reset, and realign with what truly matters Whether you’re navigating a demanding career, the pressure of success, or a major life transition, my goal is to help you move beyond simply coping, and instead consciously create a life that feels clear, balanced, and fully aligned. With years of experience guiding high achievers and deep thinkers, I tailor every session to your unique needs. My approach blends the depth of psychotherapy with the practicality of coaching. I strive to understand you, and help you understand yourself on a deeper level. Together, we’ll transform the insight we uncover into strategy. You’ll gain the clarity, perspective, and emotional reset needed to create lasting change, both personally and professionally. Our work will be personal, practical, and powerful.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me feels grounded, collaborative, and purposeful. We will focus on clarity and measurable shifts in your life. From the start, we’ll identify what matters most to you and set clear intentions for our work together. Each session is designed to balance exploration with practical strategy, so you leave with both insight and actionable steps you can apply immediately. I create a space where you don’t have to perform or have everything figured out. You can show up as you are, and know that I’ll both support you with compassion and challenge you with accountability. My goal is that every session feels like an investment in yourself. I’ll give you some tools and help rebuild your mindset to navigate challenges, align with your values, and keep moving forward with confidence.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is all about building a strong foundation. I’ll guide you through assessments to get a clear picture of your goals, patterns, and current challenges. This helps us shape a plan that’s tailored to you, and not a one-size-fits-all approach. From there, our work becomes an evolving process. Some sessions will build directly on what we’ve uncovered, while others will meet you exactly where you are that day. You don’t need to arrive with the perfect words or a set agenda (but I also welcome a list of topics from your notes). I’ll bring the right questions, tools, and reflections to help the conversation unfold naturally. I draw from evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, and EMDR to provide both practical strategies and deeper emotional processing. Sessions are structured to create momentum, but are flexible enough to honor what you need in the moment. My goal is that every session leaves you with insight, direction, and a greater sense of confidence.

I have been through a ton of therapists and never gotten the help I needed until now.She was thorough felt like she was listening to everything I was saying and gave me tips on how I should proceed with treatment. She gave me hope for the future and made me feel that overtime with her help things will get better. She was one of the most amazing therapist I have had.

Dr. Bernadin is phenomenal! She has such a great ability to make skills personal and relatable. My sessions with her have been transformative, educational, and essential. In short she's the BEST at providing head and heart (Mental and emotional) services.
Markyse is very friendly and she’s a great listener. She’s empathetic and seems to really understand me. I specifically looked for a POC therapist so they’d be able to relate to me and my lived experiences. She’s my favorite therapist to date (and I’ve seen a lot)!

Markyse was a great non-judgemental listener. She asked simple questions that helped me think and open up. This was my first therapy session and I’m very glad I finally decided to go.

She was amazing! Just in our first session she asked me questions no one has ever asked. It helped me realize A LOT within just our first encounter.
