Getting to know Marlena Miles

Hi, I'm Marlena. Do you feel overwhelmed by everything that's going on in your life and are unsure what to do next? Is stress causing you to feel paralyzed? Do you struggle to balance your relationships or to be kind to yourself? I help adults with many different mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, substance use, self-esteem, relationship issues, and stress. We can work together to figure out what you can do to start feeling better. I use a strengths-based perspective, helping to use your strengths as a starting point to wellness. Whether you're dealing with stress, relationship issues, or cycles of anxiety or depression, I'm here to help. I know that starting therapy can be scary. My goal during therapy is to give you a safe place where you can process your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Together, we'll navigate a path to help you start identifying triggers and find coping skills that work to help get you on the path to wellness. I'm here to support you every step of the way! I earned my Master's in Social Work from Florida State University, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to provide compassionate and effective care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I'm a strong believer that everyone can change their life with the right support. I strive to make the therapeutic process as easy as possible and want to provide you with a safe place to talk openly and without judgment. After an initial session, you can expect to have identified a goal(s) that you want to achieve during therapy and a basic idea of what sessions will feel like moving forward. We'll create a plan together of what to tackle first and adjust the plan as needed. I believe that you are the expert in your own life and want to help empower you to make decisions that you feel are best. I always say that you're in the driver's seat and I'm sitting shotgun. I have the map to help navigate but at the end of the day, you're in control of what happens next.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
