Getting to know Marlys Adjevi

Hey! I'm Marlys and I assist those struggling with low mood, anxiety, issues with relationships either with themselves or others and I assist them in developing a goal that is clear and concise. We work through ways that they can develop self compassion and a sense of authentic within themselves without lacking discipline and accountability. I focus primarily with those that have been diagnosed with anxiety, depression and have extensive experience with clients that have complex trauma ranging from childhood to adulthood that has been diagnosed as PTSD. I am a firm believer that diagnosis are road maps, but not identity markers and that we can learn from what we have experienced but we are not what we have experienced. I acquired my undergraduate degrees at Jacksonville University. I obtained a Bachelor in Science along with a Bachelor in Music Performance. I then received my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My first four years in my career were focused on working within a group therapy model in which I served those that struggled with severe symptoms of anxiety, depression and PTSD symptoms and they attended group 3-5 times a week for 3-4 hours a day as part of treatment. I am a clinician that is dedicated the walking the walk with you and asking the difficult questions and sitting in the deep alongside you, and many times all that is needed is to not sit in the deep alone. I have experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings along with woking with dual diagnosis clients as well. I have experience working with active military, civilian, veterans, adolescents and couples as well as families and have implemented DBT, CBT, trauma informed care, mindfulness, logotherapy, narrative therapy and the like. I am based in Jacksonville and provide both in person and virtual care and truly enjoy what I do and love helping others discover the worth within themselves
