Marta Kem is deeply passionate about destigmatizing emotions and teaching how to harness them effectively. She aims to clarify the complexities of relationships, educate on the mind-body connection, guide individuals back to their bodies through breathwork, and most importantly, help undo the sense of loneliness many people experience. Her ultimate goal is for clients to relate to themselves, others, and their environment in a way that feels genuine, compassionate, authentic, connected, and fulfilling.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Marta integrates trauma-informed, relational, and experiential approaches to psychotherapy while focusing on somatic awareness, emotions, attachment, and mindfulness. She believes that we dare to take risks in relationships when we feel safe. With sufficient support, affirmation, and genuine engagement, she believes that we can create corrective and positive experiences. Eventually, enough of these corrective, positive experiences override the negative wiring. She agrees with Gendlin and Fosha, who said, “Nothing that feels bad is ever the last step.” While working with clients, she privileges the positive and strives to "undo" aloneness.
