“She was upfront and friendly, she thought that for my ptsd i would need EMDR and she’s not certified yet so she put me in for another provider asap and I’m meeting with him tomorrow in fact. A therapist who is honest about your needs and willing to go to bat for you on first visit…rare, and welcomed. Please, if you need a therapist definitely give her a shot, like I said… honest but sweet too. You can’t go wrong with a consult, it’s no wonder she has the ratings that she does, she deserves them!!”

Getting to know Martha Baldwin

Hi there, I'm Martha! My name is Martha Baldwin, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Stockton, California, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I earned both my Bachelor's and Master?s degrees in Social Work from California State University, Sacramento. I work with adults and young adults specializing in anxiety, depression, and stress, using a Person-Centered Approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help my clients make progress and feel better on their healing journey. My approach My approach to therapy is tailored to the individual needs of each client I work with. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy because both modalities help me and the client build a shared understanding of their reality and allow us to work together to create a path that better suits them. My focus I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for Spanish-speaking adults and young adults who are dealing with life transitions and the many pressures of living in another country. This often presents as anxiety, depression, and stress. I work to help my clients navigate these transition periods and build skills that allow them to feel better about themselves and develop a more optimistic view of life. My communication style My communication style is calm, adaptable, and pleasant. I want my clients to feel comfortable speaking with me about anything, and I take joy in my ability to listen without judgment in a safe and confidential environment. My journey to mental healthcare I decided to become a therapist because I have always wanted to help people understand that what they were going through in life was not ?weird? or ?crazy,? as well as to lower the stigma that mental health has in the community. Being a trusted and loyal friend, I have naturally been drawn to helping people through difficult times. It is an honor to support others through their healing process.
