Mary Calamia, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NY
I am a Clinical Social Worker, licensed in New York and Florida, with a Master’s in Social Work from the State University of New York, Stony Brook. I have worked for about 20 years as a psychotherapist, and I truly love what I do—helping people resolve their problems and transform their lives! I have worked with clients facing a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, trauma, abuse, and difficulties adjusting to life changes. I have also helped many people living with a family member who is chemically dependent. My counseling style is warm and interactive. My clients often tell me that I am "real," meaning I don’t use a lot of flowery language to dance around a point. I speak directly, yet with sensitivity and respect. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral counseling with affective (feelings) counseling as well. I tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
