Reaching out for help is a magnificent and brave act. I am so glad you are here. My approach is simple: we start where you are. I want to hear your story and learn about your journey. Together, we will explore your concerns and collaboratively decide on possible next steps and solutions that feel right for you. I bring over 20 years of experience in non-profit social service work, particularly during the peak of the AIDS epidemic. Through that work, I witnessed profound perseverance, courage, and grief. Those experiences deeply inform my practice and my commitment to supporting clients as they move toward healing and discover their own strength. I am a graduate of the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and have extensive expertise working with LGBTQIA+ young adults, as well as individuals navigating grief, depression, and anxiety. As a native New Yorker, a married lesbian in New York City, and a proud member of Gen X, I am committed to creating a safe and welcoming space for all clients. My goal is to assist you on your journey toward healing. I look forward to learning about your hopes and fears for therapy and supporting you in creating the life you want.

What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients should know that I meet you exactly where you are. Therapy with me begins by listening. I want to hear your story and understand your experiences in your own words. My approach is collaborative. We will explore your concerns together and decide on next steps as a team. I am committed to providing a safe, welcoming space where you can speak openly about grief, depression, anxiety, identity, and life transitions. With more than 20 years of experience in social service work, including during the height of the AIDS epidemic, I bring a deep respect for resilience, courage, and the complexity of grief. I look forward to supporting you in discovering your own strength and capacity for healing.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work begins with you sharing your story. I take time to understand your journey, your concerns, and what you hope to gain from therapy. From there, we collaboratively explore possible next steps and solutions. Sessions focus on open conversation and thoughtful exploration. We move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, addressing areas such as grief, depression, anxiety, and identity as they arise. Throughout the process, my goal is to provide a safe and welcoming environment where you feel supported as you work toward healing and building the life you want.
