Hi there, I'm Mary! My name is Mary Evans, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor providing teletherapy to individuals aged 18 and above. I earned my Bachelor's degree and Master’s in Human Development Counseling from the University of Illinois Springfield. My approach to therapy is person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and disordered eating. My approach I meet you where you are. My goal is for you to feel safe and supported in each session. Together, we will discover the most helpful approaches for you, such as person-centered therapy, holistic and strength-based support, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, internal family systems, and life-purpose coaching. My focus I work with individuals aged 18 and above who are open to walking alongside me to create a life you love. While most of my experience has been with substance use, disordered eating, trauma, and mood disorders, I am committed to continual learning and clinical growth. I have a sense of humor, deep compassion, and offer direction, encouragement, and sometimes a gentle but firm challenge to help you reach your goals. My journey to mental healthcare As a woman with a colorful past and three children under 5, I returned to college at 30 to pursue counseling. I wanted to help others as a way of honoring those who helped me out of despair onto a path of healing and joy. I have served others for more than 25 years. My aim is to radiate acceptance, hope, love, and a way forward to those seeking healing and freedom.
