“Eileen is a wonderful doctor. She was recommended to me by a colleague in higher ed who spoke highly of her for both individual and couples therapy, and I've now worked with her in couples therapy for the past year. She is a kind, sensitive, and thoughtful doctor who has a gentle yet active/direct approach. Eileen creates a safe and non-judgmental environment to explore feelings and challenging subjects, and her insight and support have helped me and my boyfriend cultivate deeper connection and develop tools and strategies to work through conflicts (in and out of the sessions). She is a pro.”

Getting to know Mary Filippone

Taking the first step to get help is often the hardest. When we are suffering, we often feel ashamed, have self-doubt, low self-esteem, and may wonder if trusting another person with our truth will be safe. I understand these feelings and recognize that you may feel vulnerable as you begin your journey of healing and growth. I have been a Licensed Counselor (LPC-22667) for over 10 years and have worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient mental health and group practice. My specialty areas of treatment are anxiety, depression, relationship issues, family conflict, and parenting. Additionally, I have experience treating individuals with the following concerns: Anxiety Behavioral Issues Codependency Coping Skills Depression Divorce Emotional Disturbance Grief Infidelity Life Transitions Marital and Premarital Issues Narcissistic Abuse Self-Esteem Spirituality Stress Trauma and PTSD Women's Issues

What should a new client know about working with you?

Life can be difficult for even the most fortunate individuals. You may struggle with life transitions such as a death, divorce, job change, or relationship problems. You may experience feelings of inadequacy, depression, and loss of confidence when trying to confront these challenges. When challenges become a source of stress, it is common to struggle with feelings of failure, insecurity, shame, and loneliness. I take a compassionate, non-judgmental stance to help you address your concerns, needs and desired outcomes. My aim is to help you gain the clarity, strategies, and confidence to overcome obstacles and achieve your goals. I have 11 years’ experience as a licensed therapist and have worked with a wide array of individuals and families. I have additional training in trauma, EMDR, divorce mediation, family/couple relationships, and EFT (emotionally focused therapy). I have experience working with CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, as well as Trauma Informed Therapy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In working with me, you can expect sessions that feel like purposeful conversations. I will ask questions and you will have the opportunity to think and respond. We will explore different patterns and themes that emerge in our conversations. It is normal to experience a range of emotions during our sessions, including sadness, anger, or other difficult feelings. These emotions are an indicator that we are making progress, and I will be there to help you work through them and understand their root causes. My clients have often reported feeling relieved, lighter, hopeful, optimistic, energized, motivated, and empowered after our sessions; these 50 minutes can be truly transformative and life-changing

Aside from being professional, timely, and communicative, Eileen is by far the best therapist I have ever had. I feel completely seen and heard during every session. Unlike with other therapy in the past I really can feel the progress I have made. She has helped me process so much and has been so instrumental to my mental health.
I highly highly highly recommend Eileen not only because she is very experienced but because she is caring and kind with a unique understanding of difficult issues. I tried many therapists before but none had the skills to help me. Eileen is also such a please pleasure to be around. I am looking forward to each session! She also has an added understanding of folks like me who work in entertainment.
Words can't express my gratitude for Eileen! I'm totally blown away by her compassion, attentiveness, kindness and her deep understanding. Eileen is very kind and thorough. I'm so lucky I found her!. Truly thankful I'm working with her to resolve my issues. I look forward to moving in a positive direction with her incredible help!
Eileen was excellent she saw me right away and was there for me during a very challenging time- doctor was very knowledgeable especially helping me with my depression and other struggles, I have seen many therapists in the past but she far exceeded my expectations I highly recommend this therapist.
Very welcoming and supportive. I come out of every session with new tools and a new perspective! I look forward to each session and always feel much lighter
I really enjoyed working with Eileen as my therapist. She has helped me navigate my personal relationships (familial, platonic, and romantic) as well as reframing some of my negative emotions. I was a bit hesitant to reach out and get help from a therapist, but she helped me to be comfortable very quickly. I would be happy to recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist.
Eileen is a brilliant mental health provider. I have been working with her for about a year and I look forward to our weekly appointments. Her warm and inviting demeanor radiates. She is so caring and compassionate. She really listens to me and her feedback is always so insightful. I have grown so much from our encounters. I am so grateful to have found such an amazing therapist.
The appointment was everything that I needed. She is very good at listening and providing tools for you to get even more out of the process. I definitely will be staying with her and recommending her to others.
What an exceptional provider! Eileen is a thoughtful and knowledgeable therapist who provides a deeply caring an empathic space. She allows you to feel safe and heard. Eileen brings particular expertise about relationship issues, as well as her focus on trauma-informed care.
Eileen is an outstanding therapist and helped me through a very difficult time. She's understanding, compassionate and insightful.
I started working with Eileen roughly two years ago to deal with depression, and I have made tremendous progress on finding my own path and being at peace with who I am. Eileen is wonderful and very understanding, and I strongly recommend her to anyone who needs professional help for their mental health.
I began seeing Eileen at the start of 2023 to address depression and anxiety stemming from family issues and menopause. I constantly felt overwhelmed and struggled with sleep. Eileen has shown remarkable patience in listening to my concerns. She provided various methods to manage negative emotions, encouraged me to be honest about my feelings, and guided me toward self-love and self-worth. I am in a much better place now. Although my external circumstances remain unchanged, I've shifted my mindset, expressing gratitude for what I have and distancing myself from toxic people and situations. I've also gained a deeper understanding of emotions, learning to let go and embrace joy.
Eileen is absolutely wonderful! I could not more highly recommend her for anyone going through a tough time or merely seeking self-improvement.
My session with Eileen went amazing and I can't wait for my next chat with her. I felt very comfortable with her and was able to open up without knowing it.
Eileen is great! She is a good listener and quick to identify my cues when I need her guidance to continue during our sessions. I've continued to see her for 5 months now and plan to continue.
Eileen is so professional and a fantastic listener. Beyond just listening, she really challenges you to grow at your pace and leaves you with great advice!
100% recommend Eileen to anyone. Hands-down the best therapist ever. Having shopped around and seen other therapists before, that left me unsure if therapy was that helpful for me, I cannot express how grateful I am to have found her. By our first appointment, she was already making extremely insightful observations and giving me real, practical advice for a pressing relationship situation I was in. I could tell she really understood what I was going through. It's the unique combination of her empathy/intuition, and her practical strategies/recommendations for dealing with situations and changing thought patterns, that make her therapy such a value to me. I always look forward to our appointments and the nuggets of wisdom she shares!
Meeting with Eileen was such a refreshing experience. I’ve never experienced a medical professional that is so communicative, which felt great! It is amazing how comfortable she makes you feel right away. There’s no judgement and no topic is off the table when speaking with her. I highly recommend her to anyone that need of someone to speak to.
Eileen helped me build awareness of my emotions and of my body- emphasizing the mind-body connection. She forces me to think about deeper existential questions while also helping me with everyday challenges. The skills she has taught me have truly been life changing - I find myself being more resilient, more present, more appreciative and grateful ever since I started working with her.
