Getting to know Mary Hotze

I offer Telehealth services through your computer or phone. I work with individuals, families, and couples to help them build, strengthen, and heal their relationships. With a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University and more than a dozen years of clinical practice, I have developed transformative ways to support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and PTSD. I use a variety of techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also assist individuals facing life transitions or difficulties in their partner relationships. My experience with diverse family structures and cross-cultural families, combined with having lived extensively overseas, gives me a unique cultural perspective. We are neurobiologically designed to be in healthy relationships with others; therefore, ruptured or damaged relationships negatively affect our mind, body, and spirit. I accept clients as they are and collaboratively develop goals tailored to their needs. I apply a cutting-edge neurobiological lens in my therapeutic work. As a Mentor and trainer for the Neurosequential Network, I train other healthcare professionals in this area. I have also presented at conferences, mental health organizations, and schools.

Mary is patient yet deliberate with her approach. Her knowledge is astounding and her specific work with EMDR has helped me tremendously. I see her individually and sometimes together with my husband. Although the reasons that bring me into her office may not always be so sunny, I have grown to look forward to our sessions together.
Mary is such a wonderful person and doctor. She cares about her patients' wellbeeing and goes above and beyond. She has been such a huge asset in my life and I'm so thankful I found her. A doctor with her depth and breadth of knowledge is difficult to find and I would highly recommend her to anyone. Mary will get you on the right track to achieving your best mental health.
Mary was wonderful!! She developed a great rapport and high level of trust with us right away. She helped my husband process a lot with the help of EMDR. He made dramatic improvements that we both benefitted from!

Dr. Hotze is an encredibly kind, empathetic, and professional therapist who clearly demonstrates individual care and investment in each of her patients. She makes an effort to ensure that you are as comfortable, both physically and mentally, as possible in sessions. I have found my time in her care to be extremely beneficial to me and those I interact with.
Mary is one of the most patient, kind and understanding therapists I have ever had. She is also incredibly insightful and knowledgable about what she practices. She truly cares, listens and works with me when we discuss my issues. She is never late to our appointments (nor have I ever had to wait more than five minutes) and has never cancelled on me which is important, particularly when I feel as though I am going through a time in which her guidance is essential. She goes above and beyond for me. I highly recommend her.
Mary is phenomenal and has helped me immensely. She listens and gives her insight when needed which allows me to determine my direction. Additionally, she is highly trained and knowledgeable in many different areas. I have learned a lot from her over the several months I have seen her. I recommend Mary to anyone looking for guidance or help with any life issue.
My husband and I went in for couples therapy and we both clicked with Mary right away! She was the answer to our prayers! She really took the time to understand us each individually as well as a couple. Mary really listens and provides tools to help problem solve. I would highly recommend Mary because she is a great therapist and person!
Mary is the best therapist I have ever seen. She worked with me in processing trauma using EMDR and it was incredibly successful. I have used her to help me with grief following my father's death, issues with family and child rearing, as well as career and work problems. My perspective is healthier and I am much less anxious and prone to catastrophizing!
If you're looking for a therapist that's warm but firm, Mary is your gal! I've been her client for over 6 months and I value our sessions so much. She has helped me process childhood traumas, adult struggles and relationship woes. She gives me invaluable perspective through her extensive knowledge, personal experiences and insights! Go to Mary!
Mary helped me learn and apply the skills and insights I needed to bring clarity and balance to my life. She is honest without being harsh, and supportive in a constructive way. She knows her strengths and skills as a therapist, but is not afraid to try different approaches until she finds the best fit. I have recommended her to other people, and their experience has been as positive as mine.
Dr. Hotze is absolutely fantastic. As someone who can find it hard at times to take good advice to heart, I appreciate how adept Dr. Hotze is as straddling the line between an intellectual understanding of my underlying issues and creating a safe emotional space to properly address them. She is always extremely prompt and courteous - never had any issues there either. I can't recommend Dr. Hotze highly enough!
Mary is compassionate and empathetic. She is well versed in her role and her experience is incredibly relevant to promoting effective methods of building relationships. Highly recommend!
