Psychotherapist
MO
Hello, I'm Mary Meehan. I've dedicated most of my adult life to the educational and counseling fields, starting as a teacher for grades K-8 in parochial schools. My journey led me to pursue a Master's in Professional Counseling, and it was during this time that I truly fell in love with the field of counseling. Since 1998, I've been with the same non-profit agency, where I've had the privilege of counseling children, families, and even faculty and staff at schools their children attended. My therapeutic approach is centered on creating an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey, and I'm here to walk alongside you, providing support and guidance as you navigate life's challenges. I specialize in a wide range of areas, including LGBTQIA+ support, life transitions, medical issues and physical health, learning disorders, anger management, antisocial behavior, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, children's and adolescent mental and behavioral health, depression, family relationships, grief and bereavement, multicultural and diversity issues, PTSD, intimate and romantic relationships, spirituality, stress, suicidal ideation and self-harming, and trauma. Throughout my career, I've gained extensive experience in helping clients manage stress and anxiety, cope with grief and loss, and build motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. I also have a particular interest in working with clients on memory and focus issues, commonly known as ADHD. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy takes courage, and I'm very proud of you for getting started. I look forward to walking this journey with you and helping you achieve your goals. Let's work together to create a path towards a healthier and more fulfilling life.
