Psychotherapist
IN
I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for 19 years, working with individuals, couples, adolescents, and families. I began my career in a church setting with teens, which I enjoyed, but I realized that young people needed much more for their emotional and social well-being than I was able to offer at the time. This realization led me to further my education and pursue my Master's in Social Work at Aurora University in Illinois. I had a private practice for 11 years before moving to Montana to work as a school counselor at a small school on the Blackfeet Reservation for 3 years. I loved working with grade school-aged children and their families and still volunteer as often as possible with the school. I currently reside with my husband in rural Indiana, a decision made to live closer to family. I am licensed to practice therapy in Illinois, Montana, and Indiana. Over the years, I have worked with people experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief, as well as survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. My therapy style draws on several approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Therapies. I believe holistic approaches that acknowledge the mind, body, and spirit connection can be very effective for people dealing with today's fast-paced lives, which often lead to stress-related problems. Finding balance through life's transitions requires daily attention to our mental and physical health. I enjoy working with people who are actively engaged in their own health and well-being and have been told that I connect well with people of all ages. I am eager to help you work toward health and balance in your life.
