Getting to know Mary Rockwood

Whether you are new to therapy or have seen one new therapist after the other, the thought of being completely vulnerable with a stranger (and through a screen too!) can be extremely daunting. I am a firm believer in bringing my real authentic self to every session and honor your time and willingness to share whatever you need into session. With the right blend of Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Regulation Competency (ARC) framework, and Dance/Movement Therapy, I will support you in your personal growth through a holistic, strengths-based, and trauma-informed practice. I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and a registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT). I received my Bachelors of Arts in Dance from Bard College in 2020, and I received my Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy at Lesley University in May of 2022. My clinical experience in community-based mental health services has allowed me the privilege of providing services to adolescents, teens, young adults, and caregivers individually as well as in family therapy sessions. Drawing from my dance and movement experiences, I find joy in making mental health counseling creative, embodied, and accessible.
