“This was my first time meeting with Mary, and I I left feeling lighter and genuinely understood. She was warm, attentive, and made it easy for me to open up, even about things I usually struggle to talk about. I didn’t feel rushed or judged, just listened to with real care. I’m really glad I took the step to book this appointment with Mary, and I’m looking forward to continuing our work together!”

Getting to know Mary Vang

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's in Counseling from California State University, Fresno. As the great Martin Luther King Jr. says, "Only when it is dark enough, can you see the stars." Every person's journey through therapy is unique, and having a supportive, knowledgeable presence can help you navigate difficult emotions safely. I have experience working with a wide range of individuals-from children to older adults-battling depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and relationship challenges. My approach I take an integrative approach to therapy, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Theory, and Strength-Based models. My primary goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where I meet you where you are and support your journey toward healing. My focus A significant part of my professional experience revolves around cultural competency and bridging intergenerational and intercultural gaps. I am deeply passionate about supporting individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and relational challenges. I have worked with clients of all ages-children, adolescents, and adults-in both outpatient and school settings. My communication style I strive to create a warm, supportive, and educational space where you can gain valuable insights into what changes may be necessary for you to move forward. My hope is that you feel heard, understood, and empowered to create positive shifts in your life. My journey to mental healthcare My journey into mental health care began when I recognized the lack of mental health awareness and services within my cultural community. This gap motivated me to pursue a career that would bring greater awareness, understanding, and resources to those in need. I felt a deep responsibility to help others who, like me, wanted support but didn't know how to access it.
