Getting to know Maryanne Duffy

I have 32 years of experience working with families facing challenges related to child abuse, domestic violence, substance abuse, and sexual abuse. I have extensive experience supporting families involved in Dependency Court due to child abuse issues. Throughout my career as a social worker, I have worked with a diverse population, including Hispanic, African American, and Caucasian families. I utilize Bowen’s theory on family dysfunctions alongside family systems therapy to guide my practice. I also believe that our individual biology significantly influences our behavior, so I encourage practices such as relaxation and meditation to promote calmness. I look forward to working with individuals who wish to improve their lives and overcome maladaptive behaviors and thought patterns. Additionally, I am an advocate for families who must meet mandated counseling requirements for Dependency Court.
