Psychotherapist
CA
My name is MaryCollette Ukattah, better known as Mary. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University and a Bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University. I create a safe, non-judgmental space to explore yourself, your relationships, experiences, beliefs, and hopes. Everyone has a purpose, and I strive to inspire the discovery of your unique purpose. My approach I encourage you to bring your whole self to therapy. Therapy should be a space where you can show up authentically without fear of judgment. It should be a space where you feel heard, affirmed, and challenged. That is my approach to therapy. My focus I specialize in working with a broad range of wellness concerns, including depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, church hurt (Christian), faith/spirituality-related worries, and couples/marriage distress. I am also a certified Prepare and Enrich counselor to conduct premarital counseling. My communication style I create a calm, comforting space. I listen intently and provide thoughtful feedback. The therapy space belongs to you, so you direct the sessions while I offer questions and observations to gently guide your journey toward your true self and purpose. My journey to mental healthcare My own therapy process inspired my choice for this path. I was initially headed to medical school for psychiatry when I realized I was more interested in the person than the medicine. So, I pivoted from a lifelong dream to a new one. I chose Christian-integration clinical training because I believe mental and emotional wellness needs spiritual wellness. I hope to witness those struggling to believe their worth come to understand they belong and have a purpose. That drives me to do this work. My goals for you You are the expert in your life, so you set the goal for therapy. I support the process by highlighting potential areas to focus on based on what you share.
