Getting to know MaryJeanne Raleigh

I have been a therapist for decades with a focus adult mental health care, specifically focused on anxiety, depression, women's issues, and LGBTQ populations. I utilize acceptance and commitment therapy with strong ties to CNT/DBT approaches. I work as a school psychologist as well as a private practice therapist. I enjoy the process of working closely to find solutions and improve quality of life as defined by each individual person. We each have our own path to walk, my focus is to help you find the right path for you! I have a rich background in higher education and mental health services and have worked for over 30 years in various capacities, including as a director of counseling services, health services, and wellness centers at multiple institutions. After retiring from higher education I started to work as a school psychologist in the public schools, I enjoying working with families to support the best educational outcome for children. I hold a Ph.D. in environmental studies from Antioch University New England with a master's degree in counseling from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, and another in 20th-century Irish poetry from SUNY Stony Brook. My research focuses on the relationship between exposure to nature and the development of coping skills for anxiety. I have taught at Johns Hopkins and Antioch universities and at New England College, where she instructed graduate and undergraduate students.
