What should a new client know about working with you?

Please note that our practice does not provide psychological testing or medication management at this time. People have many reasons for seeking services, and there are several different ways to engage in therapy, but they all do one thing: they provide a way to learn about yourself. My approach to therapy is not to tell you what to do as what works for one person may not work for another, rather I want to provide a supportive environment in which you may feel safe enough to encounter difficult emotions and experiences you may feel are working against you. My agency recognized the importance to provide mental health services to local marginalized communities, especially providing services that may not be readily available to these individuals. As an Asian American, I recognize the importance and benefit therapy can provide when working with someone who can understand and/or relate to the challenges as a Person of Color, as well is open and willing to learn even if we do not come from the same culture or background. Know that working with me or anyone within my agency we strive to utilize a naturalistic and holistic approach to providing services. Striving to advocate for the human rights of all individuals regardless of gender, sexual orientation, color, or religious beliefs. I am one clinician within my agency, if I am not the right fit or our schedules do not align, there are other therapists that may meet the criteria you are looking for.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Please note that our practice does not provide psychological testing or medication management at this time. Our first session is our intake where we will take the time to learn about why you are seeking therapy and what you hope to achieve, as well as assess the what symptoms and problems are impacting you the most. This will provide us with the opportunity to confirm if we will be a good fit and I can meet your clinical needs. Should we find this is a good fit, following sessions will be utilized to create your treatment plan together and start working on what you came other than therapy for.
