Getting to know Matthew Berry

Hi, my name is Matthew Berry, and I congratulate you for taking the most difficult step toward therapy. What brings you here today? Are you having trouble handling life's stressors? Difficulty managing your emotions, whether it's anxiety, depression, anger, or something else? I help all kinds of people who are suffering from mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, people with addictions, as well as the LGBTQIA+ community and health professionals. We can work together to accomplish the goals of situations you would like to change or learn to accept by using Dialectical Behavior Therapy. It will give you the tools to guide you toward a more fulfilling life. If you are feeling like everything is out of your control, I am here to help. You will be entering a safe space that is nonjudgmental and validating. You may still have many questions, and I can answer them to make you feel more comfortable. I hold a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor's degree, both from Long Island University.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You will be walking into a safe space where you will not be judged for what you feel is wrong. We will go over any situations that are causing you distress and handle them in that session. Near the end of each session, we will go over a technique to help with getting you closer to your goals and speaking about its efficacy at the beginning of the next session.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Love talking to Matt, no judgement, all acceptance. We can talk about opposing views and I always feel heard. Has helped me for years thru the worst times of my life. Cant thank him enough.
He asked a lot of questions and was very patient.
Matthew has been my therapist for several months now. He is so helpful and truly cares about listening and helping you find ways to help you. He sends worksheets and other information you talk about during your sessions, which gives you the opportunity to truly listen to him during the session and refer back to the information afterwards. I'm so thankful I found him.

I've already bragged to all of my friends that I finally know what actual therapy looks and feels like. The amount of positive feedback I've received from friends, family and coworkers has been staggering. I feel more at ease with myself and feel like I can actually feel myself growing. I hate the term, but this has been an absolute 'game changer' for my family and I. I'm forever in your debt!
Matthew was the best therapist I’ve talked to thus far. He was very knowledgeable and incredibly easy to talk to. I could tell he was truly listening to me and wants to help. His background in substance abuse and mental health is perfect for my situation. I would recommend Matthew to anyone who wants to give therapy a try or has a background of substance abuse/ mental health issues.
