Getting to know Matthew Cole

I'm a compassionate counselor specializing in trauma-focused therapy, ensuring that you receive the space you need to heal and integrate at your own pace. Using somatic and mindfulness techniques, I address the mind-body connection. In our collaborative work, we prioritize your experiences and perspectives, creating a safe space for exploration while respecting your autonomy. With a focus on the person first, I provide support for your healing and moving forward. Your needs are my priority, and I offer empathetic and inclusive care for your overall well-being. I work with individuals, teens, couples, and families, providing comprehensive therapy for support and healing. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver and a Bachelor's degree from Colorado College. Matthew Cole is a Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor currently working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. Their CA license number is 13482. Their current employer is Anais Plasketes.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I aim to create a safe and supportive environment for us to collaboratively explore your thoughts and emotions. My trauma-informed lens ensures that you will receive the space you need to heal and integrate at a pace that is comfortable for you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Starting this October, I'm excited to announce that I'll be offering discounted EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy services. EMDR is a powerful approach that can help you heal from trauma and distressing experiences, even if they've been affecting you for a long time. If you've been struggling with memories that won't fade, feelings that seem overwhelming, or experiences that still feel too real, EMDR might be just what you need. This therapy method has shown great success in helping individuals process their emotions and find relief from the weight of the past. I believe that healing should be accessible to everyone, which is why I'm thrilled to provide these discounted EMDR sessions starting this October. Your journey toward a brighter, more resilient future is important, and I'm here to support you every step of the way. In my practice, the guiding principle is simple yet profound: the person always comes first. Embracing the essence of person-centered therapy, I believe that each individual's unique experiences, strengths, and needs deserve the utmost respect and attention. By placing you at the heart of our therapeutic journey, we can empower your growth, and foster self-discovery.
