Psychotherapist

People come to therapy because they are in the midst of something that needs attention. Whether this is a life transition or an ongoing feeling that has felt unaddressed, most people come to therapy to attend to an unmet need. My role as your therapist is to help you identify and attend to that need. My approach Life is a complicated journey. The things we face today are not the same as several years ago, and they will not be the same in the future. I work through a lens of lifespan development, considering this throughout the process. I work with adolescents, adults, and elders all slightly differently because they are facing life differently. I believe that working through the process of therapy should be empowering and that my role is to act as a guide and support. Because of this, the process is largely about working to find your voice and your story rather than working from a prescriptive model. My focus If you find that anxious thoughts need more than quick reframes and the weight of depression needs more than positive affirmations, then I might be a fit for you. I see therapy as something that is more effective when considering the systemic and existential realities in front of us. Coping with and living in a world that often perpetuates trauma and anxiety often requires a moment to consider what we can accept and make meaningful in our own lives. I believe that therapy is one place where this can be found. My communication style Rapport is foundational to the therapeutic process. To me, this means that communication is clear and kind. I work from a place of non-judgement and find that encouraging folks to offer themselves the same kindness can be very helpful. In the spirit of kindness and non-judgment, I also find that being direct can be helpful and foster healthy challenges in session.
