He has helped many clients achieve their personal and professional goals in diverse settings, including prestigious hospitals and correctional mental health care facilities. Currently, he leads behavioral health initiatives for a financial Fortune 500 company. “I combine psychotherapeutic interventions with mindfulness when needed to achieve stress reduction, self-awareness, and self-expression.” What was your path to becoming a therapist? I earned a bachelor’s in psychology from Indiana University and a master’s in social work from New York University. My research experience includes working in a domestic violence lab designed to determine individual and contextual factors that contribute to the occurrence of psychological and physical aggression in close relationships. I specialize in the treatment of stress, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, adjustment issues, life transitions, major mental illness, trauma, and the impact of technology/social media on emotional health. I have a passion for helping adolescents, young adults, and professionals who are overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, stress, loneliness, or burnout. I also help those feeling insecure develop emotional grit and resilience. What should someone know about working with you? I use an eclectic approach to therapy, tailored to the goals and preferences of the client and based on extensive training and experience. My treatment style is integrative and strengths-based, which includes techniques from crisis management, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed therapy, psychodynamic therapy, family systems approach, and motivational interviewing. I combine psychotherapeutic interventions with mindfulness when needed to achieve stress reduction, self-awareness, and self-expression. I enjoy nothing more than bringing out the best in others, seeing them grow, and helping them attain the happiness that has eluded them. What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider? My commitment to learning and building competencies is a lifelong pursuit. I stay up-to-date on the latest research and practices by attending annual training. Every year, I read between 150 to 200 books on diverse topics ranging from ways to incorporate Eastern philosophy into psychotherapy to learning concepts used by Navy Seals to manage their emotions under high-pressure and high-stress situations. I'm also a big fan of listening to podcasts on subjects related to mental wellbeing. Do you ever doubt your accomplishments, have low self-confidence, or feel like you are an imposter? If so, I can help you with that! My clients typically work on imposter syndrome, anxiety, and work or career stress while in therapy. I also specialize in treating shyness/social anxiety, self-confidence, obsessive compulsive disorder, perfectionism, phobias (flying, public speaking, etc.), panic disorder, workaholism, depression, procrastination, and relationship problems. “I enjoy nothing more than bringing out the best in others, seeing them grow, and helping them attain the happiness that has eluded them.”
