“Matt has been exactly what I need - he evolved my therapy experience from a sympathetic sounding board to more completely understanding and accepting who I am & why I am the way I am. He's kind and patient, says the right things, but holds me appropriately accountable. Would recommend Matt to anyone who is looking to methodically break down the way they see and respond to the things in their life.”

Getting to know Matthew Heintz

I work with adults with ADHD, especially those diagnosed later in life or might never have considered the possibility. My clients struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, and difficulty following through on tasks important to them. Many of my clients are high-functioning in their daily lives but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or frustrated by patterns that are hard to change. In therapy, we focus on understanding how ADHD impacts your thoughts, emotions, and routines, while building practical strategies that make daily life feel more manageable. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to your goals, with an emphasis on creating tools that actually work for you. I offer telehealth sessions and accept multiple insurance plans. If you’re looking for support and a clearer way forward, I’d be glad to connect. Therapy can feel weird and uncomfortable. Who wants to open up to a stranger you met online anyway? But you've already taken steps in searching and reading this far. We're just a few clicks away from meeting and getting to work. I look forward to meeting you!

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy generally goes at your pace, I'll nudge you along but this is your space. We start out exploratory, we have a lot to catch me up on. You are the expert on you and the challenges you face and it's my job to develop an accurate understanding of who you are and what we are working toward. As we explore, I help clients develop foundational skills, like how to get "unstuck" from thoughts or refocus themselves on the present moment. I welcome questions at any point in our work and try to be as transparent as possible about my approach. I enjoy explaining the psychology behind approaches and clients have said they enjoy listening to the info I offer. Early on in our work we will establish a clear measure of "when is therapy successful." We will check on this goal routinely to see if were making reasonable progress or if we need to make adjustments.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first two sessions will be fairly structured. In our first session we will focus on catching me up on the life you have lived and what I need to know to help. Obviously we can't cover everything in an hour or two, but we will have a general overview of things like health concerns, family relationships, education and any significant life events. In session 2 we will focus on developing clear and measurable goals for therapy so we have a mutual understanding of what we are working toward. As we continue we have more flexibility. Clients generally prefer to process recent events as they are more fresh in their minds and easier to take action on. That being said we wont just be doing "weekly updates." We will discuss patterns and how recent events relate to our therapeutic goals and how past traumas influence them. I often suggest homework for client's such as experimenting with a skill we discuss in session as well.

Matt is literally the best, helped me through so much. It was the first time therapy worked for me. Would highly recommend.
Matt has been exactly what I need - he evolved my therapy experience from a sympathetic sounding board to more completely understanding and accepting who I am & why I am the way I am. He's kind and patient, says the right things, but holds me appropriately accountable. Would recommend Matt to anyone who is looking to methodically break down the way they see and respond to the things in their life.
Matt's genuinely warm and gentle in tone, which makes connection easy-flowing and known he cares deeply for his clients. His will for caring about those struggling with their mental health is pure. It may be his career yet it's one he pours his heart into. As someone who initially signed up for a day trial, I had chosen to continue therapy with Matt even after he went out of my network. I've been a client of Matt's for the past three years and I will very much say I am glad I started therapy. He is deeply empathetic and understanding. He will help you navigate through your experiences with no sense of judgement. He listens fluently and responds honestly in accordance to the situation. He encourages trusting yourself on making decisions suitable to your set of values. He challenges you to look beyond what you already know and use that to push further to keep instilling growth. Matt's beautiful gift of empathy radiates through his character and care as a therapist. 100 recommend!!!
He is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, and I always look forward to our sessions. He makes me feel heard and understood, and has already helped me progress noticeably through our work together
I have worked with Matt for years and will not work with anyone else. He’s caring ,patient and makes you feel comfortable and never judged or guilty for feeling the way you do. 10/10
I really like Matt's attention to detail. He really listens to me and is patient enough to let me get every thought straight in my own mind as we sought it all out. I appreciate his text book psychology answers, broken down to layman's terms. Matt has wisdom in his layed back thoughtful monotone voice. I find it very soothing. I look forward to our continued work to understanding my origin of thoughts and beliefs.
Matt is amazing, definitely always provides good insight on what I’m going through and if necessary how to over come the situation … Also a very good listener!
Matt is incredibly kind, patient, and helpful. I never did therapy before, and Matt has been really good with explaining the process and making me feel comfortable opening up. I highly recommend Matt - he has been a truly wonderful addition to my life this year.
Matt is a great therapist! Super respectful, funny, and empathetic, but always willing to challenge me. I've grown so much while working with him.
    First visit was very nice

Matt has been fantastic! He is kind and astute, and he's been both incredibly patient and very willing to push me on things where I need to be pushed. He's careful to remember important patterns even I don't recognize. Over the months we've built a relationship where I really trust him and I know he has clients' best interests in mind. I'd recommend him in a heartbeat!
