Matthew Long, LCSW

Psychotherapist
743 S. Dotsero Dr., Counseling Ofc, Loveland, CO
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Colorado. Since I was little, I've always wanted to help others and pursued that passion in a variety of settings. First, I worked as an EMT on an ambulance and at a university health center. During those years, I realized many people can put on a bandage, but it takes a special person to heal the mind for those experiencing mental health emergencies. I completed my Bachelor's in Psychology at Biola University and earned my Master's in Social Work (MSW) from Colorado State University. I have experience in a wide range of behavioral settings, including group homes, in-home behavioral therapy, and emergency response services. I've spent eight years in education in various roles, including school counselor, special education social worker, and district-wide social worker focusing on substance use classes and suicide prevention. My expertise in the school system allows me to be a strong advocate and support resource by targeting the systems your child needs to succeed. For the past four years, I have worked as a therapist, supporting people from all backgrounds with a variety of issues. During this time, I sought specialized training in areas I am passionate about, which led me to create my own practice, Redwood Heart Counseling. I am dedicated to supporting individuals who feel stuck in life, knowing there is so much more potential locked inside them. My hope is to guide and encourage people toward their best life with a touch of humor and warmth.
