What should a new client know about working with you?

"Lack of self-esteem can deeply affect how we view ourselves and how we interact with other people around us. In order to help tackle the client's perspectives on themselves, I utilize evidence-based assessments to learn more about the client and how/what has led to their current feelings on self worth. Through these steps, I help clients rebuild a healthy relationship with themselves and the people around them through a strength-based approach. Anxiety is something that can be very overwhelming and isolating for clients. Through REBT (a type of CBT) I hope to help clients manage and understand their anxiety by allowing them to regain control of what is causing the anxiety. My approach involves creating a safe space to help calm and relieve some of those worrisome thoughts. Stress-management is something that can deeply affect how we operate our day to day lives. By utilizing a solution-focused approach through setting boundaries, relaxation techniques, time management skills, and identifying stressful triggers, I hope to help clients manage and alleviate the stress that they have been dealing with."

What is your typical process for working with clients?

"I would describe my therapeutic style as a mix of CBT and psychodynamic where I like to challenge and identify negative thought patterns and behaviors. Alongside also looking at the client's past experiences and unconscious thoughts/feelings and how they play an influence on their current behaviors. My approach involves looking at the client as a whole while creating and maintaining a safe environment."
