Matthew Willing, LCSW

Psychotherapist
AZ
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing telehealth therapeutic services in AZ. I believe therapy is a partnership where client and therapist jointly work toward healing and relief. I work with adolescents, teens, and adults and have experience in addressing anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder, life transitions, trauma, and depression. My approach My approach differs depending on the needs of the client. I often utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral activation, mindfulness, elements of ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), and psychodynamic approaches. I believe being able to adjust to the needs of the client leads to improved overall outcomes. My focus I have specialized in working with adolescents and teens in addressing anxiety, panic, OCD, school issues, trauma, and parent/sibling relational issues. I also have extensive experience working with adults and addressing anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, as well as LGBTQ issues and transitions. My communication style My approach is to listen and connect with my clients with gentle openness and no judgment. It is important to me that my clients are able to feel safe and able to fully express what is on their mind. My journey to mental healthcare I have always had an interest in building connections with people, exploring what makes us humans, and how we can overcome extraordinary hardships. During my training, I have had the honor of working with a variety of populations, and it has been the greatest privilege to work in this field. My goals for you I believe therapy is a partnership with mutually agreed-upon goals that we can work towards together. I believe in adapting treatment goals as things change and as priorities change over time. My priority is to offer support and help you work towards your goals even when they feel difficult or scary.
