Getting to know Max Zachai

My name is Max Anne Zachai, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Chico, CA, working with clients throughout California via Telehealth. I hold a Master's in Psychology from California State University, Chico. I have over four years of experience as a therapist at a domestic and sexual violence agency, serving clients from diverse backgrounds with high levels of trauma and crisis. In my private practice, I work with adults and teens (12 and up) on a broad range of presenting concerns. My approach I believe in a collaborative approach, working with each client to develop a therapeutic style that meets their unique needs. I work to evoke my clients' innate capacity for healing, utilizing Internal Family Systems as a framework to understand the impact of their experiences, while incorporating attachment-based modalities to provide the safety and security necessary for challenging therapeutic work. I have a broad range of interventions and tools to provide structured support when needed. My focus I have extensive experience working with clients suffering from complex trauma, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Many of the clients I have worked with are processing significant grief and loss, navigating major life changes, or living with mental health concerns and/or neurodivergence. I strive to create a safe space for each client both as an individual and within the context of their life and culture. My communication style I have a warm, conversational style in sessions. I believe the client is the expert in their own life, and my role is to bring expertise, education, and experience to provide guidance and an outside perspective. I am honored to be part of your healing journey and take the responsibility of my role very seriously. My goal is to provide you with a safe, non-judgmental space to talk and share about the most complicated parts of yourself and help you make sense of all that you are feeling.
