May Scholle, LCSW

Psychotherapist
PA
Hi there, I'm May! I have 30 years of experience in the field of Child Welfare and Mental Health, treating those individuals who are suffering from mild to moderate symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, parenting issues, and interpersonal relationship conflict. My approach I use several approaches to assist clients in meeting their objectives and goals, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, solution-focused, positive psychology, and the dialectical behavioral approach. I am certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy to assist individuals who have experienced trauma. My focus I believe that each individual has the answer to their personal struggle within themselves and just needs a safe space where they can clarify their values and learn skills and strategies that will enable them to move forward and live the life they desire. I typically treat high-functioning adolescents, adults, and couples who struggle with symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, parenting issues, and interpersonal relationship conflict. My communication style It is very important to me that I am an empathic listener and meet you where you are at with open, clear, and genuine communication. You can expect a non-judgmental, patient, and calm style in an effort to create a safe space for you to explore your experiences so that you can clarify your values and learn skills and strategies to move forward in life. My journey to mental healthcare My journey toward becoming a provider of mental health treatment developed from my personal desire to help others overcome their struggles and live their best life. My extensive background in Social Work, particularly in the field of Child Welfare, provided me with the opportunity to work with so many different individuals and families who showed me how resilient individuals can be.
