“I had a very positive experience with Miss Arth. She made me feel comfortable and at ease. She was down-to-earth and immediately took away any hesitation I had. Unlike some other therapists I've seen, she felt like a genuine ally, someone who truly had MY best interests at heart. She was professional, but was never cold or distant like other therapists. She gave honest, constructive guidance. I never felt judged, just understood and motivated. If you're looking for someone who makes therapy a safe, honest, and snitch free space, I highly recommend her ”

Getting to know Maya Arth

At this time, I do NOT accept insurance. I offer teletherapy virtual sessions for self-pay only ($210 for individual intake/60-minute sessions and $175 for individual 50-minute sessions). I can provide a detailed superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. If you have an out-of-network plan with mental health benefits, it is possible that most or all of the session costs will be reimbursed once you have met your deductible; please check with your insurance in advance. Please note that Medicaid plans do not offer out-of-network reimbursement. Upon booking, I will follow up via email and phone prior to your appointment to introduce myself. I earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Florida and have been in the therapy field for over 10 years. I help clients struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues achieve emotional self-regulation, connectedness, and inner peace. I also support current and prospective parents in navigating pregnancy and postpartum challenges to find joy and growth in parenthood. With my specialized training in perinatal mental health and EMDR, I assist with concerns related to fertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, and birth trauma. I enjoy working with individuals who struggle with unrealistic expectations and pressure to be perfect by providing techniques that help quiet their inner critic and develop self-compassion. I am committed to supporting clients in finding their best selves and connecting with others in an authentic, healthy manner.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work hard to create a trusting environment so that clients feel comfortable revealing their true self in a judgment free space. When times are difficult, it is important to find the right person to help you nurture hope and focus on your strengths. Together, we will set goals, use a variety of tools and techniques to bring about change and recognize and celebrate growth. I am very open to feedback and willing to change trajectory if needed. I strive to make you feel seen, heard, understood, and inspired to connect with yourself, others, and the world around you. I view therapy as a collaborative journey in which my role is to create a safe, healing space for clients, so they can release their emotional weight and restore a sense of perspective and competence. My approach is different for each client and can include any of the following: changing thought patterns/core beliefs, making space for difficult feelings, learning boundaries and communication skills, EMDR processing for trauma, visualizations, mindfulness, somatic and creative exercises. I believe in the power of mindfulness, so I often incorporate somatic approaches to achieve mind-body balance in my work. Please note: I do NOT accept insurance, but offer superbills for out-of-network reimbursement if your plans has that option.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Please note: I do NOT accept insurance, but offer superbills for out-of-network reimbursement if your plans has that option. Once a session is booked, I will gather basic information to get to know you and together we will explore your therapy goals. The number of sessions will depend on your goals and need for therapy. More acute issues may be addressed in a handful of sessions, whereas deeper work may require consistent, weekly sessions.
