Psychotherapist
928 Broadway, Ste 806, New York, NY
Hi, I’m Maya! I believe therapy is a space where you can slow down, feel heard, and begin to make sense of the experiences that have shaped you. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of what’s next, I’m here to support you in reconnecting with yourself and what matters most to you. I primarily work with young adults navigating anxiety, perfectionism, depression, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, identity exploration, and the lasting effects of trauma. I have a particular interest in supporting individuals navigating loss, whether that's the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, changes in identity, or other significant life transitions. My therapeutic style is collaborative, warm, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own experience. I aim to create a space that feels nonjudgmental, supportive, and attuned to your needs, where you can explore openly and move at a pace that feels comfortable and right for you. I believe meaningful change happens when clients feel safe enough to be themselves while also feeling gently challenged toward growth.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In our work together, you’ll learn to regulate different emotions, reconnect with your values and sense of self, and safely process both past and present experiences. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but it’s also an exciting step toward growth and healing. My priority is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel supported and understood.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I take an integrative, trauma-informed approach to therapy, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness-based approaches. I'm especially interested in how our emotions are held in the body and how bringing awareness to those experiences can open pathways for healing, emotional regulation, and deeper self-understanding. Together, we'll work to better understand your experiences while building practical tools to help you respond with greater self-compassion, flexibility, and resilience.
