Hi there, I'm Mayra! My name is Mayra Castro, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Bakersfield. I have a passion for helping clients navigate complex issues, difficult emotions, and daily life stressors. I have several years of experience working with children, teens, and adults. I work closely with you to determine the best treatment approach and your unique needs. Some areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, relationship issues, parenting, and life stress. My approach I use a trauma-focused approach when working with clients who have experienced trauma. I also use a client-centered approach to help you work through daily life stressors and other life changes. I utilize various modalities, which I will discuss with you, to address generalized anxiety and depression. My focus I enjoy working closely with my clients on their goals and the best treatment approach for them. I have experience in several areas. I especially enjoy working with teens to address depression, anxiety, and school stress. I also work with parents who struggle with feelings of inadequacy, overwhelm, and challenges in gaining cooperation from their children. Grief and loss are very complex, and I am here to help you navigate the emotions that come with loss. If you have experienced trauma, I understand the impact it has on your life and am here to help you manage that impact. Depressive and anxiety symptoms can be challenging to manage, and I am here to help you learn coping strategies to improve your symptoms. My communication style I utilize a client-centered approach and provide a safe environment. I am focused on helping you through difficult times and emotions. My journey to mental healthcare I started my career as a Social Worker because of my passion for helping others. Throughout my career, my passion and love for helping others has only grown.
