Hi there, I'm Mayra! Hello there! My name is Mayra Lorenzo and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based out of Southern California. I have over 18 years of experience providing compassionate care to clients on the whole life span, ranging from children, teens, adults, and seniors. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transition issues. I commend you for taking the first step to enlist support for yourself in the form of therapy. My approach I was trained by psychodynamic professors at San Diego State University and this training colors a lot of my work with clients. Some of the most common theoretical approaches that I use in my practice are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Therapy. I tailor treatment modalities based on the client's needs. My focus In my career as a therapist, over the past 18 years, I have had the honor to have worked with clients within the whole life span. I have strong clinical skills working with children, teens, and adults in various phases of their lives. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, autism, and life transition issues. My communication style My hope is to create a safe space for my clients to talk about and process whatever they might be going through, or have gone through in life. I strive to create this safe space by being attentive and attuned with my clients and communicating with them in a calm, genuine, honest, and respectful manner. I hope to be able to facilitate therapeutic conversations that bring about meaningful change in your life. My journey to mental healthcare I pursued a career as a therapist after being witness to the healing power that therapy can have on an individual, their families, and the communities that they are from.
