Getting to know Mayra Robles-Alvarado
Healing is not always found in a linear path. With every new experience we encounter, there is the potential and opportunity for change.
Hi, I'm Mayra. Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little about me.
Therapy can be a challenge for some people, so I like to provide gentle guidance while engaging together on this journey. I strive to help create a safe space for people to explore their identity-cultural, familial, sexual, and more.
I have worked in the medical field for almost 20 years in different roles. This has allowed me to gain diverse perspectives and a deeper understanding of the medical community. Being part of this community has enabled me to serve patients, caregivers, first responders, and medical professionals.
I earned my Master's in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University, which has further equipped me to support individuals through their healing process.
Most of my adulthood has been spent in Austin and the Hill Country. I am a bilingual first-generation Texan and happy to call Central Texas home. However, I was born and raised in South Texas, and la frontera (the borderlands) is also very much part of my identity. I find that our cultures and family of origin often influence how we carry our experiences and expectations.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Therapy can be a valuable tool that can be used in conjunction with other nurturing practices. You may not know what that combination may be yet but together we can collaborate and find what works for you. I really enjoy supporting people through exploring what promotes growth, healing and clarity in their lives. As a therapist I aim to create a therapeutic environment that allows for creativity, humor, insight, growth, and healing. I am a sex positive therapist and warmly welcome all gender, sexual and relationship diversities.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
