Mechelle Mcgowan, LCSW

Psychotherapist
FL
Hi, my name is Mechelle and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Florida. I am also a Certified Grief Counselor. I received my master’s degree in social work from Florida State University and have been practicing for 10 years. Life is full of ups, downs, and unexpected turns which can cause us to experience stress, leading to feeling burn out, being overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, and unmotivated. As a therapist I aim to work with my clients to navigate these life challenges as we will explore your thoughts, and feelings by developing a plan using evidence-based techniques. I provide a safe and supportive environment and will encourage you to make the changes needed to live your life to the fullest and feel like yourself again. Throughout my career as a Clinical Social Worker, I have had the opportunity to work with a range of clients experiencing anxiety, chronic illness, grief and loss, and life transitions. My approach to therapy is to build a trusting supportive relationship to allow my clients to feel comfortable and safe when working through some of their most vulnerable feelings.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
