Meg McCormick, LMHC

Psychotherapist
WA
I believe that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. In that vein, I try to meet clients where they are, collaborating to find the best course of treatment. My goal is to offer a supportive environment where you can fully express yourself, gain insight, and take steps toward personal growth. My approach I practice from an anti-oppression, inclusive feminist lens. I use a person-centered or client-centered approach, which means clients are in charge of what issues we work on and what goals we work towards. You are the one in the "driver's seat," and I'm more of a specialized GPS helping us find our way there. My focus I specialize in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, gender identity exploration, as well as the consensual/ethical non-monogamy community, and the sex positive/kink community. I also have experience working with those who have been involuntarily hospitalized, and more acute diagnoses. My communication style I prioritize clear, open communication to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment. I practice active listening and will give you opportunities to reflect on your experiences with you as an empathetic partner. If we’re working through something challenging, you can expect me to be calm and patient. My journey to mental healthcare My own experience in therapy was so transformative that I realized becoming a therapist was the way I wanted to help people work towards their best selves. During my graduate training, I focused on those who had been involuntarily hospitalized, often with more acute diagnoses. I have also worked extensively with the LGBTQIA+ community, gender identity exploration, as well as the consensual/ethical non-monogamy community, and the sex positive/kink community. My goals for you I believe that therapy is a partnership.
