“Although I enjoyed our session with Megan, my wife had her mind made up before the session started. My wife has a bachelor’s and almost a masters in mental health therapy. I do feel as if Megan connected more with her than me and used terms and phrases I didn’t understand. I think Megan did in some ways but all the way kinda connect more with my wife than me. I do feel as if that put me at a disadvantage as soon as the session started her and Megan talked a majority of the time.”

Getting to know Megan Bigler Tafolla

As a licensed clinical social worker with a Master’s in Social Work from The University of Alabama, I am committed to collecting evidence-based "tools for my toolbox" to aid those grappling with finding a new normal after their world has shifted. I love helping people find language to describe their losses, often when there has been difficulty finding the words, inspiring them to find hope again, and to develop a plan to move forward in a way that both honors their experiences and embraces the future. I take an action-oriented, collaborative approach to therapy. I utilize a combination of psychoeducation, storytelling, and evidence-based interventions to offer meaningful insight that supports clients’ healing. I strongly believe that rock bottom is the foundation upon which we can rebuild our lives. We do regular check-ins to review progress along the way. Our goal is not to change the past but to find relief from symptoms that impact daily functioning. I solicit feedback regularly during sessions to gauge progress and curate treatment interventions based on what is most engaging and productive for each individual client.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

She is so awesome! I was really worried about feeling uncomfortable or judged, but she’s like the best and I’ve only had one session!
Megan has been so helpful in my grief journey after losing my mother. She has helped me process and navigate the hardest things I have ever had to go through. She is kind, understanding, and thoughtful with her counseling. I have been very grateful for her, will continue to seek her guidance and time.
Megan is extremely helpful and relatable! She ensures I am comfortable with everything we discuss and helps me really tune into what I’m feeling. She helps me to realize that lots of my responses are related back to experience I had as a child and then provides the adequate tools and information for me to make the necessary changes I desire.
